Forum project

why not....:D

might as well go all out

even more all out...clear-vapo mod...woooooooooo:)

Also, I apologize that I said that this project was not going anywhere, just, I was following this thread, and there was absoultely nothing going on, and just I exepcted a higher level of participation.

Now I see things have gotten a lot better :)

lol thanks. It Just need some people to take off. I have the reasources to do it so that shouldnt be a problem.. All we need is some help Fom the people that do know about this to get more people in on it. Its a FORUM project so the more people involved the better the turnout will be of the actual product. I have access to an automotive body shop so paint and case moding is no problem so we can Baisically do to the case whatever we want. For now we will use the 1800+ but in a couple weeks we will vote on a new processor to use. ANd we will use the 512meg of 2100 i have now but we will vote like i said in a couple of weeks on the memory speed and type. 512 is all im going to invest on for now whatever speed. then later we will vote on an amount if 512 isnt enough. I do have the 8 meg buffered 80 gig hard drive and i was going to take a vote to get another one and raid them together. But for now its the case color and mods with power supply

Sweet! Make your own case of course. If you're good at it, that is. Hmm, ideas. Have to think about it. How big silent fans can you get hold of?
If you run RAID, please don't run RAID 0. At least no on the system drive.* If you want to run RAID and have the cash, go for RAID 5 while you're at it.

*Ok, I'll explain. RAID 0 arrays are not supposed to store anything important. Sure it's a little bit faster, but it's not right. We want to do this right, right?
Oh I'm going to be sooo flamed... ;)

well i was thinking of getting a really fast ata 133 0r serial 160 main drive and getting two 80 gig ata 100 raid drives with the 8 meg cache

ok I think the votes speak for themselves we are going to use an aluminum case.... we need four good cases to vote on.. We are going to mod them so they dont need alot of cool features just enough so we can cut all kinds of holes in it and windows and wings for all that matters. Get some case ideas. keep in mind we will be modding it.

yeah it looks cool i like how they did the side panel window on it.i wonder if that could be duplicated onto another case

dude i work in a body shop when im bored and need extra cash.. trust me we could duplicate anything with metal. Anyways i have a few other case ideas but i would like to get a few more ideas from some other people first. See if we can get some. SHOW ME YOUR CASES lol

I have, I have!!!
It worked to some degree although only a few of the screws lined up. When inserting memory and gfx cards etc it always felt like the board was going to break in half because of the lack of support :D

My vote goes to the enermax case, although maybe you need a bigger power supply than that.

Good luck with putting the system together

ill be sure to post pics of my PC im custom building the case im using is the PC65 USB (Black), PLUS EDITION with side panel window and blue neons to light it up once everything is put together im gonna take it to the local paint and body shop and have a pic of an eastern diamondback rattlesnake painted on both sides with a diamondback pattern on top.should turn out great.as you can probally tell the theme of course is the diamondback rattlesnake then after thats done ill have the monitor case keyboard and mouse painted with the same pattern.

Ace Check out my config... It kinda says it all.
I run RAID 0 because all I care about is performance. I have a filesever for important stuff. Any gamer just cares about frame rates, right? Straight performance is the best way to attack this project. Case modding is kewl, but buy performance, and make it sweet under the hood first, right? I mean really, Get Q3A up around 600fps, then worry about making her easy on the eyes.
That being said, you still need a starting point. A case to get you started would be fine.
If I were to choose a case right now I would probably go for this one here. It's pretty kewl. Not the best one I have seen but not bad for the money. Plus, sleepers rock, hehehe. I personally don't like all the X's all over some of these cases these days. I would stick with a single big window and a custom applique that I created... I dunno, just me, I guess.

thats the idea dude but since i can get all the modding done to the case for free right now id think that would be the way to start. besides we already have 512 megs ddr and an 1800+. Wich in the near future will be replaced with a 333mhz fsb 2600+
and i think in gonna go with 3500 memory so i can overclock and not worry about the memory limiting me. That provided we vote to do it. anyways we have to decide on a case and im about to start a poll on wich case to use. see if you can get people to vote. more votes the better the final product

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
