by the way -
if your windows xp crashes w/FAT32 so that scandisk insists on checking your hard drives for errors on restart, time how long it takes. if capacity is 40-80 gigabyes (sometimes X two for two drives), it seems as if it takes forever. not so with NTFS and its journalling system (similar to Linux Reiser). it's ready to go with no perceivable delay.
