What is desktop.ini inside the Startup folder?

Inside the startup folder is a file called "desktop.ini"

It is a hidden file and contains the following commands:
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787
Does anyone know what it is for?

The hidden desktop.ini inside your folders maintains your preferences for that folder. If you delete the file, the folder will revert to XP's default folder settings (for that folder).
