XP will not update

from fresh installation it will not update.....

uh is it the legal ver?if so you should have no problems the warez ver will not update and questions regarding such a version willl not be answered If Its a legal ver and you have tried win Update Post More info Some1 might be able to Help

If you cannot update XP check your c:\windows\windows update.log. If you have this error: Error 0x800C0008 then go to Tools\internet options\languages. You must have one language selected. Boom windows update works again!

i found out another way how to do it. If you clear your cmos on your mainboard, chances are that your saved clock settings are gone and the board will no longer remember what year it is. Change this in windows! Just today i formated my computer and reinstalled xp. Went through activation and everything and when i came to updating. . . boom! NOTHING. Since it was my own key i thought something was up. Didn't relize that the clock wasn't set right, so i changed it and problem solved. try changing your clocks people, maybe that will fix it. worked for me

i have a real version of win xp home, and it's installed fine, but but sp1 will not install..

& let BigFix find the right patches for you

Try to uncheck the Automatic Detect Setting, Proxy Setteing..etc in the Internet Options -> Connection Tap -> LAN Setting

That what I did and Windows will update no problem, good luck.
