XP Driver Rollback

Hi all
A friend of my has lost the ability to rollback his drivers in Win XP Pro,
any advice how to get this working again,

the ones he is trying to rollback are NVidia display drivers, to which I said you have to use add/remove programs to uninstall them.

but I cannot figure out how to get the rollback working again.
would that have anything to do with system restore, if it was disabled.

Try logging on as Adminstrator. System Restore would not have anything to do with it.
