basically you go from Athlon XP rating to athlon rating...
the athlon xp 1800 should still keep you competitive... and you should probably run faster than a regular athlon at 1400... BUT if you are gaming... you need every little tiny juicy bit to keep your rig humming
the 400 odd MHz is not the only difference... the fsb you are using is 33 mhz lower... it all adds up at the end of the day mate...
get a bigger psu.... it should do the trick... if not they should be able to restock the component at where you got it from for a very minimal price..
