Is there any way to completely remove the Windows Media Player 9 shell extensions from the system?? e.g. Queue It Up, Play in Windows Media Player and Add to Playlist...

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers,

You have to do it in the registry. You can delete subkeys of these keys
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Audio\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\audio\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Video\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\video\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    and
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mp3file\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.mp3\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    and edit or delete
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mp3file\shell\play
The last three as example for many other media file extensions such as wma, avi,....

Always backup before changing anything in the registry.
