Winamp freezing when loading mp3s

I'm trying to update my playlist on my site, and my winamp freezes at about the 4,000th mp3 loaded. After trying to load all my mp3s at once, which froze right away, I tried loading them at the rate of a few folders at a time. It still freezes up, and I've tried playlist generating programs, but they don't seem to work either, any suggestions? (I want to generate html, but winamp3 may work by making a m3u?)

Are u using .pls playlist files?

a .m3u is IMMENSELY faster than a .pls to save and load.

How much RAM do you have? I know i can make WinAmp chuck a fit if i try to add all my music into it all at once.

Winamp will try to read files as loaded but this can be disabled from preferences. You could have a bad mp3 around the 4000 mark and this is causing the problem. I routinely load 20,000+ mp3's, no prob.

Im not using any playlist files, I'm loading it from the folders.

try adding some, closing winamp. open it again add some more, that way when you get to the toublesome file or whatever then you havent just lost all your previous files out of the media library
