slipstream XP or just install XP then SP1 ?
not counting time wise, but performance wise
don't think there is a diff in performance
but there are pros & cons for both ways
slip stream is much tidier
but installed separately you can roll back easier
its up to you
personally I prefer the slip stream method
yes, i think the slipstream would be better myself too.. pain to make the cd, but after that its fine
It makes no difference.. why waste time and a CD slipstraming when you can just slap in a CD-R or CDRW with sp1.
doing it separately
you end up with a 200 meg uninstall file
& an extra 200meg dll cache in;
TwoZigzagColt45, 200mb is nothing these days!!
yes, what a waste of 200MB....
I've got 100gig in this box & still worry about space *crazy*
I still think old school when a 1gig hard drive was big
i remember when i was excited about getting a 500MB hd..... hahah
Yeah & windows came in a box of floppies
Them were the days
If you have tried you system with sp1 & had no problems then go for it& slipstream. There are links to sites that guide you step by step. Then you can make a nice cover for the cd........that reminds me there is a thread somewhere about that happening. Cd cover & case cover. Must go looking.
they still do , dont they?
