weird videos...wmp fault?

i recently downloaded an mpg video of 133 mb. when i open it in wmp9 it says that the video is 1:33 min long. i play it and it gets to a certain part, and i play it again, but this time i fast forward to...lets say the 3/4 part of the seek bar, and it shows me a totally different image than the one i saw before! its like it cant read all the video, but if i fast forward it works. anyway to watch the whole video as it is? i tried with mplayer 2 and same thing happens. only way ive found to watch the whole video is using mgi videowave 5 and previewing it (which is a big hassle just to watch a single video)
