    Hi Guys,

How safe is VoIP? Has anyone heard of realtime communications being hacked into? Can someone theoretically hack into someone else's paid service?

The Cable/Internet company here is starting up a local/long distance VoIP service for way cheaper than my Local phone company. I am trying to figure out if this would be for me. I wonder what security measures I would need to take.

    Thanks in advance.

    Heeter

I havent heard of any issues, but in theory anything can be comprimised so i cant see VoIP being 100% secure, as with anything.

VoIP is subject to the same security risks as any data network.
