Vista to Xp - No HDD's found - Toshiba Amilo Li 1818

    Trying very, very hard. Have recovery Cd for Vista and an Xp Pro cd but the Xp won't run due to Hdd's not being found. have all supplied Discs from Toshiba, any ideas guys??

    dig up the SATA driver floppy disk from the manufacturer

    The Toshiba Amilo Li 1818 isn't available through the US portal so I can't point you in the right direction for the drivers. If it is an Intel chipset then it is the Intel Storage Matrix driver that you need to load during Windows setup.

    Using XP you need to press F6 during the loading of Windows setup (keep an eye on the bottom of the screen). You'll have to put the drivers on a floppy.

    Problem is, I have no FDD! lol. Will chav one from work and do it that way.. Cheers peeps! :yowch:

    Go in the bios and change the sata settings. Have to do it on the Dells.
