I'm looking to go into a good (read affordable) video card.
I was thinking Geforce Ti but its pretty steep, but one the other forums i frequent, someone mentioned good things about the Sis Xabre , does anyone have any personal experience, or input?

    thanks

Pull in your belt awhile and get the ATI Radeon 9700. Considering the quality/performance of this card the price is not too bad.

I just got a Ti4400 the other day. I've been happy with the performance so far. I paid US$190 for it from newegg.com. Hope this helps you out some

    hi:

the ati 9700 will be expensive but worth it

if you need a budget card

gofor the ati 9000 pro 128mg oem

$135 cdn and has all the directx8 effects
    pixel shading etc

gforce 4mx left that out for the budget users so stay away from all the mx lines

benchmarks show the 9000 pro retail is in between the ti200 and ti500

    Thanks a lot guys,
i'll probably keep an eye out for the radeon 9700, and the Geforce 4400, see which i can better deal on.

8500 is also good, but for new age either the 9700 or the 4200

Get the Geforce 4200, or 4400. both awsome investments.

Nick M 4400 was taken off the market by Nvidia, people were just buying the 4200 and ocing it, which by the way the Gainward Golden Sample cards overclock VERY NICELY
