well i got in there and took off the heatsink and fan and stuff and actually got the CPU out and emailed that number on the sticker back to Newegg and they said it is a 2600+...so I put everything back in and booted into the BIOS and went into the SoftMenu III Setup and found in there were I could change the CPU and i changed thru there until it came up to 2600+ 333...so I set it to that and rebooted...it came back up and ran for a lil then rebooted itself. I got back into the BIOS and it back to what it originally was at 1500+ 266....it booted back into windows fine...I then used Aida32 to monitor the temps and they seemed very very high.....the motherboard got up to 48 C and the CPU up to 54 C and kept climbing and climbing....at the suggestion of a friend on IRC....i decided to reinstall XP with the CPU in the BIOS set to 2600+ 333....no go...wouldnt even boot up...so I set it tup 2600+ 266 and it got into the XP installation and then shut itself off when it got time for me to press enter to install windows XP...I have powered it off for tonight...I am tired of messing with it....anyone have any suggestions?...
