Whats the difference between 66 and 100 udma. Is it worth buying the 100 cables
the diffrence is about 33mb/sec faster data transfer on a drive supporting it.
the answer is yes for hard drives.
A UDMA 66 cable is the same as a UDMA 100 cable (80 leads, same as UDMA 133 as well). A 40 lead cable is for ATA33 and lower.
So there's no point in paying more for a UDMA 100 cable than a UDMA 66 cable.
The only difference between a 66, 100, and 133 is that each respective cable has been tested at the speed they are rated for. But generally, they are interchangable.
