I came across another fun screensaver that does not seem to be very popular. It basically takes the animation used when Time Machine is activated on Mac OS X Leopard, but is screensaver form:

I thought it was pretty cool. However, it does not do what it's name intends, which is "save your screen". The only thing that is moving on the screen is the stars, and they are only a few pixels big.

On newer systems screen saving is a thing of the past, if you are using an LCD for example, there is no burn in what so ever. This is because the hardware has been designed to update the pixels no matter if there is a change or not.

Screen savers now are just a preference and a customisation and a way to blank the screen when walking away from your computer so that others can't see what is going on. Besides that, there is really no point anymore these days.
    omg its nlm likes this.
