Has or is any one using this software. And what do you think of it. Saw it on the iolo website. Thanks for any info.

what is it
and what does it do?
i've never heard of it before
and i'd like to know
hehe:D

It cleans up your computer of unwanted file and the like. It has 15 tools to use.

well, I don't have it anymore, so I forget the gui, but every process worked great...cleans registry, cleans dead links, dead programs in your uninstall, actually does a fair job of tweaking your internet connection, other stuff, lets see, I think it has an installer too...good for uninstalling every file on uninstall, I can't remember...lets put it this way...if I was servicing computors, I'd take this on disc with me, and clean everybody up that I visited...it's pretty good...the thing is, with a combination of free programs, you can do everything in the mechanic, but the mechanic is a very good program

I used it during the 30 day eval and it worked great. The duplicate file finder is also nice. You can get it at TigerDirect.com for $29.99 for a limited time (it's normally $59.99).

Does it Clean ?

I cleans out everything alright and you will have to reformat. I had this trial software and just did a clean registry, after which nothing worked the way it used to. I had to reformat the entire drive, because it cleaned out the most important DLL's . I could not open the CD ROM Drive. My advise ! Don't touch it. A simple Clean registry software that is available free will do the job without scewing up your computer. It's called RegClean.

Be Wary!

I used it once about a year ago...wont ever use it again!

Messed up my system in such a way that it would ONLY boot in tp Safe Mode....tried everything to sort it. It and other software wouldnt even execute in Safe Mode so i couldnt even undo the things i used it to change in the first place!! Made me mad i tell'ya!

I only managed to sort it by downloading a very simple program (made by some bloke) that worked (thankfully) in safe mode.

Dont bother, try TweakXP instead.

glad you let me know you had a problem wtih this proggy...I won't recomend it again...however, eveything it deletes is both logged, and stored in the recycle bin...when you had the trouble, did you restore the files you deleted?

I have used it for years with no problems at all. I bet the guys that had problems with it did a registry cleaning and did not have teh box checked that refers to ecxluding CD drive references or something like that. System Mechanic along with Norton's Win Doctor keep my system clean and running smooth.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
