Any one know how I can change the text on My start button in XP Pro SP1 to another language, say Russian or Hebrew or even Chinese while still running the English version of XP?
follow these instructions but you have to find out how to use another text in it. There is a part where your changing what start says, then search in there for what lauguge or whatever
Haven't tried it myself, but maybe you can use the character map (accessible from start/programs/tools or type charmap in the run dialogue) when you follow the tutorial and reach the step where you insert your new name of the start button. If you don't find the characters you want in there, you can install additional language files from controlpanel/region and language settings/languages.
Thanks guys/gals , I already knew how to change the start button text in English , but I needed to know how to change the language.Charmap didnt work, so I finally did it this way - When I came to the part in the tutorial for entering my own text, I installed a new language, typed the text i needed in wordpad, copied the text from Worpad into Resource Hacker and I was done.
I was confused because the line above the start string said
STRINGTABLE
LANGUAGE LANG_ENGLISH, SUBLANG_ENGLISH_US
and I thought I needed to change it, but it worked anyway
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
