right, but if the signal dips under the threshold allowed by the receiver (sub, in this case) then it's the same as having no signal. also, a good cable would be shielded better to guard against EMI (electro-magnetic interference).. which could cause pops or worse on your digital audio.Originally posted by Zedric

I know you (most likely) know this, but just to clarify, gold plating has nothing to do with shielding. But a shielded cable is of course better than an unshielded.
