    I searched for this! Honest, I couldn't find it.

    Anyhoo, here's the deal. After waking up from hibernation, my task bar is gone. This only started after installing SP2.

    HE'P!

    Thanks very much,

    if you're using a desktop pc disable hibernation.

    if its a laptop its debatable whether its usefull so you could probably disable it there too.

    However in the eventuallity you dont want to do that you could try this reg file:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "SystemTray"="SysTray.Exe"

    import that and reboot, hibernate and wake up and see if its still missing. if it is the only other work around I can think of would be to hit ctrl+shift+esc to get task manager up, kill all instances of explorer.exe in the process list, then file > new task and type explorer.exe in that box.

    and wait for someone else to come up with a solution :D

    Thanks. I'll see if anyone has any other solution, 'cause I'm not comfortable with the registry stuff.

    Failing that, I'll disable hibernation...I was trying to save energy...and the planet! :)
