Skipping Music

I have a soundblaster audigy on windows xp professional. I have tried multiple version of winamp 2 and 3, but for the life of me i can't get them to stop skipping during my songs. I know the mp3s are fine, becuase i have tried them on other apps as well as my nomad jukebox. I like winamp, so i am hoping there is just some setting i need to change. If specs of my comp are required please tell me and i will post them. thanks.
