I've always assumed that when you click "allow" on your software firewall that it would allow a program to access the network freely. Apparently that is not the case with Ashampoo, because it always screws up my SQL server.
I want a software firewall that just allows or denies programs from accessing the network, and doesn't have a bunch of other weird, hidden security features that block my server from communicating with itself. The only reason I even use a software firewall is to notify me that a new program wants to access the network for the first time.
Do you know of one that will fit the bill?
