i've installed windows 2000 three times this week and every time i try to install a security patch from windows update, upon reboot i get a blue screen with the error "inaccessible boot device 0x0000007b

i need to have at least service pack 2 to be able to install the security patch for msblast.

    please help.

i don't remember who helped me with my last problem with windows update, but thanks. it was a problem with the date in my bios.

it's definately a deeper problem but it's driving me crazy.
i've tried everything. checked all my hardware, memory, etc
and the only way to test it is to install the service packs and see what happens. thanks for your help though.
