See XP computers on Vista's network map

    Windows vista uses a protocol called link layer topology discovery (LLTD) to make the network map, but since xp doesnt support it, any PCs in your network using it wont appear on the map

    this can be fixed in Windows xp SP2 by installing this official patch.


    but MS hasnt released this patch for SP3, so u can either follow this instructions or google for the unofficial fix (called "WindowsXP-KB922120-v6-x86-ENU.exe").

    The funny part is, now that I know this, after Christmas most of my computer will probably be on Vista only. Oh well. lol
