RIAA cracks down on Internet2 file-swapping

if my kids were old enough....
good luck, it moves from archiving music to a major production. On the bright side my wife loves her new Dell DJ and the files I have already archived.

My boy can do it he has been using the net supervised and learning since he was 3, now 9, my daughter who is 11 just wants to use the net for yahooligans.

My boy will do it, as for your wife, bet she showed you how much she loved you when you gave her that, ha!

my boy is only 4, my daughter is 20 months. Of course, he likes Unreal 2004 and is actually pretty good, time to start teaching my daughter how to click a mouse. As far as music, that one they leave alone, they have to ask...no one touches my music. no one.

I don't share my files. RIAA Sux !! I wish some one would sue them.

No you share files which you stole, that means you didn't buy the copyrights to, so infact you are sharing theft.

BPI = British Phonographic Industry. We've been contacted by them a few times at coreix.

had to read that twice, the first time I read pornographic Industry. Wow, you guys actually have a bureacracy to deal with that?!

I don't even share those lol ...

When was the RIAA allowed on the "Internet2" network? Last I had heard they had asked and I thought were rejected. If that is true then they must have cracked into the network right?

Also instead of sueing these kids like crazy why not offer them an alternative? I think 7/10 would take a flat fee tacked on their tuition for a set amount of downloads. I read an article last week I think it was about some Uni's that have a college only service that provides students with movies for a small fee @ fast downloads. I think this type of thing for music would be a good idea also.

Yeah but mostly they have a blind eye policy. So far they only take action against large scale operations and let datacentres do the rest.

As datacentres in the UK have a "not on my network" approach it's a stealth act. BPI email datacentre, datacentre kills server within 15 minutes, problem solved.

I read yesterday that the RIAA has possiblely payed students to narc on the rest and supplied them with the "tools". :(

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
