I recently purchased software "for Windows XP". My question is could that software be used on Win98?

I have tons of Software for Windows 98 (games and such) that I cannot install and load on XP but is my XP software reverse compatible with Win98.

On the box of the Software in question, it only said "Win2000, XP compatible".

So, whats the deal?
Thanks

Usually on the Software Box it will have a "System Requirements" section. If the "Minimum Requirements" Part includes Win 98 in the "OS" listing then it should be fine if not then I wouldn't load it.

The Software I was refering to is McAfee Uninstaller for Windows XP.

It is backwards compatible with Windoz down through 9.x

Even the uninstaller upgrade to 6.5.1 goes back to win 95.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
