Redirecting Firefox to another folder question

Hi all,

I am wondering if I can redirect firefox to another place on my setup.

My default install is in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox" directory & the "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla" directory.

I would like to place that second directory on a network drive, and make the primary install point to it.

Can I do this?

Thanks.

yep, about the only way you can do it is if you install a portable version of it ...

Thanks AZ,

I finally figured it out, using the link you posted as my guide.

I copied my "xxxxxxxxxxxx.default" folder over to my dropbox.

Now, I have dropbox installed on all my workstations (both Linux and Windows), I have a full install of firefox on each workstation and all my preferences, plugins and addons are all the same throughout all the machines.

I find this way better than the weave addon from firefox.

Technically, from what I can see, this can be done to Thunderbird as well. But, in my case, I use Thunderbird as a IMAP client through gmail, so backing up the default folder is not a priority for me.

I use dropbox to store my keepass files and now my firefox profile.

Thanks,

Heeter

I want a drop box myself. Using it as a central location is a good idea.

Hey Johnny,

Here is a link for you. Clicky Here

They offer 2 gigs free, which is more than enough for the stuff I use it for. (Firefox backup and Keepass backup).

I really like that it sets up as a regular folder that I can drag n drop stuff into and out of. There is a public link folder right inside the main dropbox folder to send public links to files from inside that folder. Peeps can download a file from inside dropbox.

I grabbed this link from inside my dropbox setup.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
