    After startup the quicklaunch does not appear. I then right click, toolbars, and check the quicklaunch box. The quicklaunch bar then appears. I can either lock the toolbar or not; in either case next time I start up there is no quicklaunch unless i do same again??????Help????

    I have a fix for this at home in birmingham, I'll see if I can get my bro to send it to me on Monday its a 2 entry .reg file that makes windows save settings again.

    THeres a url for it too but I dont recall it off the top of my head..

    Okay here's the .reg file..

    It came from that Kellys Tweaks thing that AZ posted:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "SystemTray"="SysTray.Exe"

    I saved it as savesettings.reg. It worked for me YMMV

    I tried your suggestion. The changes appear in the registry but the quicklaunch still has to be redone every restart. (Sorry I didn't get back earlier......just didn't get a chance)

    Did you try the reg entries or the taskbarplus! tool I mentioned?

    Yes, I've tried everything suggested but nothing seems to work. Somehow XP has lost the fact that I want to start the Quicklaunch toolbar at startup and I've got to do it myself each time. BTW, this is true for every user on my system
