For IE I use Pop-Up-Stopper Pro. For Opera I use the already included Pop-Up Stopper. Both work great, although the one in Opera has no configuration settings (that I can find anyway) but then again, I run the free version of Opera.

Or you could use Mozilla and uncheck the 'Open unrequested windows' box.

I think I'll check that Mozilla out. Have been hesitant because it sounds like GoZilla (known snoop ware).
