    Yes. It's gone off for me ... but I still use the hard drive today and SMART hasn't gone off again although I do know what the problem of the hard drive is ... the tracks in the beginning of the drive are fubar.

    Never had a S.M.A.R.T. enabled drive fail on me, a friend's recently died on him though and he was forewarned via S.M.A.R.T. :)
