i got this from the nero cdspeed site:
"Problems with DMA.
If you have an Intel chipset based motherboard then you should not have any problems using DMA.
Chipsets from other manufacturers can give you many problems, especially VIA chipset based motherboards are known to cause problems with DMA settings.
In this case you should install the latest busmaster driver from the motherboard manufacturer or from the chipset manufacturer. Changing the IDE setup by moving the drive to another IDE channel may also resolve the problem."
Providing you have the correct IDE cable installed and both devices support DMA transfer (modern motherboard) then the lowest speed will be the default, if this is PIA mode, that's your problem.
Or one of the drives might have been incorrectly set by the manufacturer to PIA mode even though it supports DMA.
This problem will entail downloading either the correct firmware or getting hold of the manufactures tools usually on a bootable floppy and changing it from there.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
