PC DVD to TV screen probs...

I have hooked up my laptop DVD to the TV by using the "s-video" out. I can see the windows screen on the TV along with the powerDVD software, but the movie screen for the powerDVD software comes up blank despite the movie playing on the laptop screen. It does the samething with other DVD software as well. Any ideas what might cause this?

maybe this helps, it happens with my dads laptop. in the display properties, in the part where u choose where to output the signal, sometimes theres an option that says "output video on LCD" or something similar. uncheck it so it displays the video on the crt/tv (hopefully)
