Hey you guys, i wanna know how i can prevent other people from having acces to some directories and harddisks by putting passwords on them, do you know how? (file system is NTFS)
With XP Pro you can password protect any directory you want. Just rightclick the file or folder you want to secure and choose properties. Choose tab 'Security' and there you can specify what rights a user has to that folder/file.
that's a solution, however NTFS access permissions will not password protect any file/directory... it will set who can read/write files and folders, if one is not allowed then he'll get an *access denied* message, he will not be prompted to give any password.
but tell us... what you keep in protected dirs? eheh
i'm going to a lan party wit sum friends of mine and i just want to protect my files form them, that they don't f.... around wit h my computer....and in the protected dirs i have music, windows, programs and ofcourse........(you know what)
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
