in the "to" fields, I get auto-complete only if I enter in the first few of the actual email address, but NOT the person's name or nickname
(which I believe is display name as)
    this seems odd, and frustrating
    eg

bob johnson, bj@email.com, mr Bob Johnson
I have to enter BJ into the "to field"

I checked with outlook online, and it said my nickname file might be corrupted, that I should rename it, but it is not even there!

    ideas?

"Nicknames" are for info only and won't show by design. Sounds like your .nk2 file is working as it should, which is the cache for your addresses -

ok - I understand your answer
but is Outlook so lame, that I must remember the actual email address
and not the person real name? or nickname? to get auto complete to work?
