Office2000 installer problem in windowsXP

After updating both windows XP and office 2000, something has gone wrong!
The spelling checker, thesaurus and word-dividing thing does not work. Office ask to install it again, but cant because of an error 1635 in the windows installer?

Likewise Im unable to uninstall office 2000, because of a windows installer problem. Furthermore, setup on the office CD does not work - says something about contacting the vendor....

What can I do to solve this problem??

It's best to totally remove Office from the system - I think there was an install issue with Office 2K - you can check the MS website:
http://www.microsoft.com/office for more info

Thanks, I would like to try.
But Im unable even to unistall - because of this issue.
I have tried both from the CD - as well as from add-remove group in the control panel.

So please how do I remove it!
