i remember reading somewhere about how to speed up boot by changing something in the registry, to do with winxp looking for some network computer on boot? (this only applies when networking). i cant remember what it was, but it did speed boot time up. ive just formatted and lost the reg hack. anyone know what it was?

    cheers!

Do you perhaps think of this one? It is however no reg hack.

    1. Open Windows Explorer
    2. Choose "Folder Options" from the "Tools" menu
    3. Go to the "View" tab and check off "Automatically search for network folders and printers" in Advanced Settings.
