I have installed a LAN between 2 XP Pro machines,

Please can I have some tips to increase the speed of the file transfers ??

The connection is working OK but a little more speed is always a good thing :D

Has anyone tried the tweak in this post? If so, did it work?

Hmm I personally use a router/hub/switch[linksys] A switch does wonders on a network. Well try to keep anyhing unnessary from running in the background and during Lan gaming and file transfers have your antivirus program disabled that also helps speed things up. Also are both cards 100mb? Processor speed is also a plus the faster the better.
