Net Work Question !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Im trying to sort out a problem for a freind, but i seem lost lol

Ok hes got a Win 98 machine with broadband (NTL), and connects a Win Xp machine via a hub, you can get internet acces on both via the one cable model but the question is..........

How can you set up the win xp machine to have a seperate email address ? and to acces the email seperatly from the other machine ???

Any help would be grateful.............

This is not a networking problem but more of a config question.

Does he have 2 seperate email addresses?? If so set up one email addy on the 98 machine and the other on the XP machine.

Yes 2 seperate email addresses, the problem it that it you can surf the net ok, but something seems to be blocking sending any email etc on the xp machine, it also wont search any game servers etc ???

Thats why im not sure whats causing it

ok .... now youre talking serveral different issues...

check your DNS settings in networking....

The reason you may have some problems with online gaming is because you are behind a router (the win98 machine) on the XP machine. It shouldn't be a problem just playing, but hosting will be trouble.
