Need Router Help.

Depending on what firmware you have you want to navigate to the Advanced Tab and MAC Addr. Clone or just click this link - http://192.168.1.1/wanMac.htm link to take you to the configuration page of your router to enter the MAC of your NIC.

Btw, I have Videotron cable, similar to rogers . And internet works on both of my comps with Win XP Pro .

Not all cable providers will bind your connection to a MAC address of a NIC.

Hello Chaos... I also have a SMC Barricade Router. What I had to do is in the router setup you have to make sure that you Clone the Mac address. When you run ipconfig/all your Wan IP should be your Rogers IP which is 24.xxx.xxx.xxx. Your router should be set to IP 192.168.2.1 and let the DHCP handled your internal IP's.

I have 2 pc's (WinXP Pro and Win2K Server) on internal IP 192.168.2.38 and the other is on 192.168.2.12, my router, DHCP server and DNS server are all set to 192.168.2.1.

You will not be able to connect to the net if you don't clone your MAC address.

Good Luck and let me know how you made out...

:)

Ya I just cloned the MAC Address. Everything is working great now, internet and all. Thanks for everyone who has helped me with this. Another job well done :)

just curious, what ports do you have the ethernet cables plugged into? Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Ah nevermind...didn't read that its working. Good deal

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
