It actually is. Bitsetting only works on dvd+r DL on the 2510a but works on single layer +r on the 2500.

the 2510 is the best dvd writer that is dual layer as for the 2500 it is the best single layer dvd writer and also the best conversion to dual layer writer

its so old dvd players that dont support dvdr media, play them, only works on +r. before burning a dvd you have to turn on bittsetting, i havent tried it but its really cool, i know it works.

EDIT: opps forgot to say what exactly it does, it makes the dvd player think its a dvd-rom, instead of a dvd+R

Ooh, clever. Maybe I should get one then (since I don't have a DVD burner and my DVD player only takes DVD-ROM).

bitsetting is used before you burn a dvd+r. Similar to atip info on cdr's there info on a dvdr that identifies it. with bitsetting, you can change this to read dvd-rom instead of dvd+r
