    Is there a solution to this? Messenger seems to transfer/recieve any size of file extremely slowly. But with Hydra IRC, I am transfering and recieving at high speeds. I have a 4Mbit connection. WinXP with SP2 and Windows Firewall is active. I have no other transfers happening at the same time, including downloading from sites. It is almost always one or two files at a time.

    SPeedY_B I may actually be insane.

    Midlands, England
    IRC = Direct Connection.
    MSNM = Routed connection (situation and client dependant).

    Try an un-official MSNM client such as aMSN or Mercury which can force direct connections on file transfers, however direct connecting is not guaranteed to work.
