The Tabbrowser extension will do it for you. Gives you a whole bunch of stuff to play around with in your Preferences (related to tabbed browsing )

why cant Mozilla open images within its windows when you click on them
File>>>Export>>>Favorites. Save them as HTML then go to Mozilla and import them.

If you mean a pop-up blocker, the built in one works great. That's one of the things that sold me on Mozilla. Better than any stand alone I've tried.And Pop-Up Ad Filter doesn't work with it.
