Messenger 8.1 Beta says: Hello World

    Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta is released. It is what we call a dot release, the changes are not as major as in a major release (go figure) they are small updates to the existing stuff in Messenger

    The 8.1 Beta info link is down. Any other one?
    I personally experienced too many bad issues with WLM (comparing to 7.5). I hope that the "better server performance" feature will resolve these issues.

    Honestly, I like WLM, but yes some of the sign-in issues are annoying. However, it's a lot easier to use. I won't be going to 8.1 till release because I like my mess.be patch. :)

    Installed it on my desktop (running Vista RC2) yesterday. Ran into the crash bug, but fixed it using the instructions on the WLM blog:
