Losing the boot

I dual-boot '95/XP on a mix of fat32 and ntfs partitions. I've heard horror stories of people unable to boot because they messed up their boot files and this gives me nightmares that one sad day this might happen to me too. As I'm not sure how the boot process works, how would I repair that? For the time being, I've put ntldr and boot.ini onto a floppy. Would these 2 files solve the problem if I restored them to the root of C: in case I lost my... booting power?

Cheers all. Annette

That's exactly why they couldn't boot back up. They messed up their boot.ini. Leave it alone & it won't give you any grief.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
