Logging on

Is there a way to turn off the option of having to use a user name and password to use XP. I'm the only one that uses my PC and its annoying having to log in all the time

Whoa, wait a minute! You don't have to format, just remove the password for the (only) user, and it should automatically log in. I that doesn't work, download TweakUI for Windows XP, part of the Powertoys. Go to the tab 'Logon' and then place a tick at 'logon autmatically at system startup' and specify your username (and password) here.

trekmp - in his first post asks a question - so instead of welcoming him and helping him out - czar (knowingly) gives him bad info - and then says: if he believes me and formats he is getting what he deserves .

I always thought the idea here was to help out the lesser knowledgeable - not lead them down a path that knowingly is not the best approach!
