java problem

    I have the latest java and lately when I'm playing chess the applet crashes and it seems it resigns my game at the same time

    anyone else get this?...happened about 5 times in two days

    Perris, Make sure you uninstall all the the old versions of the Java Runtime Environment.
    this could be causing you problem, and its also good security practice. See if that helps

    thanx for the suggestion, uninstalled all intances and reinstalled, will let you know if it solved the problem

    didn't help, might have to give up chess till the next update, this is really bad, I can't play for more then a few minutes before the applet crashes, then even if I can get back to the table I've been resigned

    lost over 200 points because of this

    so it's not a java problem it;s a firefox problem, ie does not crash these applets
