How about ILO are you saying this so called Dell server has no way to get into it and load drivers without an OS? I think you need to call Dell I am sure they have something they can use to help.
That's not entirely accurate. Yes you have to download the files as extractable-executables, but you can do it on another machine. Download the file, double-click to extract, and cancel the install. That will extract the files for you, so you can grab the files you need.As stated earlier, the USB is not bootable on this computer. The only thing that I can boot from are the HDD, The CD drive, or NIC.
It turns out that I am going to need the drivers too. The ones on the Dell website are completely useless (you have to install them on the server once it is already running). There is no INF file in the bunch (that I can see anyway) to slipstream with.
I'm stuck.
Why not use the Dell Installation and Management CD to install the Windows Server?
It is very similar to HP SmartStart and allows you to configure the server prior to the OS being installed.
