How much watts need to run p4 processor?

  1. How much watts need to run p4 processor? I just installed P4 2.4Ghz, mobo, single hhd , vido card I can turn on but I cant see anything on the monitor screen.

    The minimum for a basic machine with a cdrom + cdrw drives shouldn't need more than 350W PSU. However, if you have anything more than this, you should be looking to upgrade the PSU.
    It's also a good idea to use a separate power cable for the monitor. i.e plug it straight into the wall socket rather than putting it into the box.

  4. thanks I juts brought a new case with 450W with it. it should be more than enough :)

    Why? The extra connection on the PSU doesn't put any load on the PSU. It's branched just inside the shell of the PSU.

    350w minimum, 400+ preferred. Make sure it has the extra +12v P4 mobo connectors as well (the little square one).
