Microsoft says "The status of the NUM LOCK key is specific for each user, and by default, it is disabled."
This means that when you hit the log-on screen in XP the Num Lock key light should be off. There are two ways to change this behaviour, one involves changing a registry value to 2 (does not work) the other involves running a small script from the start-up folder using the VB {SENDKEYS} function.
The above fixes to me don't make sense. I would have thought that an admin user should be able to set this somewhere in control pannel. You can do this in 2000 but seemingly not in XP.
Even Powertoys for XP does not seem to be able to set the Num Lock default behaviour.
Any ideas?
