Hello all... I need a little help from the gurus in here. I know this is off topic but since i spend alot of time on this forum and I value your opinions I thought I would ask here first... I just built a PC (I have built many), and I am trying to install Windows2000 Advanced Server. The problem is, it wont boot from the CD to install, though it will boot from my XP CD. The problem is not the computer. I have even created the boot floppies from the Win2000 CD and once I get the dos prompt I try to install and I get the error "Installation Halted - Windows stopped installation because there's nowhere to place the batch files" --or something like that. Am I missing something? How do I get this thing installed? Do I need to run a special file on the CD? I dont know what to do... When I run the CD from within windows xp it disables installation functionality. Any suggestions?
